"The Second BingLangGu Qi Xi (Traditional Chinese Valentine's Day) Blind Date Ceremony" opened today at BingLangGu Park. To kick off this grand ceremony, 50 couples did the traditional Bamboo Dance. Chinese and foreign tourists were all happy to join even though some did not know the dance.
It's the first time in Hainan's history that such a big group of people have done the Bamboo Dance at the same time. This spectacular and amazing performance allows people to feel the charm of Hainan culture. It will contribute to the promotion of national development and harmony.
This kind of dance is famous all over China for its unique qualities. It originated from folk dances and is matched with lively music. Because of its easy to learn moves and varied rhythms, nowadays the Bamboo Dance is just as popular as other modern dance. In Hainan, Li and Miao people always perform the traditional Bamboo Dance, especially during festivals.
BingLangGu is aiming at enriching cultural tags of the park with folk music. To help tourists experience something a little more interesting, the park has tried to guarantee cultural diversity to all visitors who come to the park.
